This website shows a house that is completely powered by the sun. The house won first place in the People's Choice Award and second place overall. Browse the site to see architecture, energy systems, cost, and how to build your own. From the website: "LEAFHouse incorporates both systems available to consumers today, as well as new products being developed." Best for: People who would like to build a solar home. Standout Features: This house was built by fellow Terps! It shows that homeowners can indeed get off the local grid.
