We would never use a plastic bag but even paper bags have non-green aspects . . . the manufacturing of them, their transportation, even recycling is not a perfect solution. We purchased several cloth tote bags and store them in our car so we're always prepared. There are many places to get cloth grocery/tote bags but we also wanted some fun designs. Going green doesn't have to be boring. For any that might be interested, we found an online store called The Bagg Shoppe with hundreds of fun designs. Here is the link if you'd like to look: http://www.cafepress.com/timeonmyhands.
