At a Glance: GreenFacts digests cover a variety of important, current environmental topics. For instance, there is a Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage digest, and a Climate Change digest. Both of these are based on 2007 reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Of note, the IPCC shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore. GreenFacts bases its information on highly credible sources from the international scientific community.

Best for: The digests are excellent scalable publications that are suitable for people with a wide range of scientific knowledge. This resource is particularly useful for people wishing to understand more of the science behind the environmental issues facing the world, whether they consider themselves experts or novices.

Standout Features: Each digest provides three levels of detail, which allows users to select the appropriate depth of information for their purposes. More importantly, the digests include the actual source material published by scientific bodies. This makes the information that GreenFacts offers highly credible.

Keep in Mind: GreenFacts is a non-profit organization based in Belgium. It has an independent Scientific Board that chooses the source documents for publication. The website lists all members of the scientific board, as well as their function. There is a Panel of Experts that advises the GreenFacts staff on the composition of summaries for each digest. Additionally, for each applicable digest, GreenFacts cites any co-sponsoring organizations. The organization is very transparent about its publication process.
