Date: 2007

Notes:
At a Glance: NRDC has compiled this series of helpful resources that provide users with an easy-to-use toolkit on ways they can improve their daily habits to have a positive effect on the environment and on their own health. The resources are divided into six simple categories that together, encompass most of the activities a person encounters in their daily life. The categories are: journals and overviews, energy-saving tips, conservation, health, travel and recreation, and guides for professionals.

Best for: The toolkit provides resources that would appeal to a range of people. One set of resources are for professionals, on how to green the workplace and business events. Another set of resources focuses on conservation and are aimed at people who are passionate about that issue. Some of the tips are small actions that people could take in their home, such as recycling and a green gifts guide, but others require more of a time commitment and investment of money, such as purchasing a hybrid car, or buying power from a clean energy supplier.

Standout Features: The toolkit is very useful to people who have decided to bring a little 'green' into their lives, but need a little help and advice on how exactly to do that. The tools provided users with useful and practical information to help them make decisions about how to be green. For example, if you want to buy a hybrid car but do not know what model would be best for you, if you want tips on how to reduce the amount of garbage you are producing, or even if you are looking for simple ways to reduce energy use in your home and want to know what light bulbs are the best choice, the Green Living Toolkit will help you make these decisions.

Keep in Mind: The Green Living Toolkit is resource from the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a nonprofit advocacy group dedicated to protecting the environment and public health.
