Notes:
At a Glance: This website for a non-profit coalition "promoting energy efficiency worldwide" provides information about energy conservation for a variety of user groups and encourages activism.

Best for: discovering energy conservation tips, learning more about energy policy, and getting involved in energy activism. This resource also provides many links to other great resources such as the websites for Energy Star and the Department of Energy.

Standout Features:

  • Separate resource pages for different user groups, including consumers, educators, policy makers, Alliance associates, the media, energy professionals, and contributors.
  • Many money and energy saving tips for consumers.
  • Lesson plans for educators.
  • The Energy Action Center where people can make donations, sign up for policy updates and action alerts, and find out who their elected officials are. Scroll down the ASE homepage and click on "Act Now!" on the left panel to get there.

Keep in Mind: The ASE "is a nonprofit coalition of prominent business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders" (Alliance Basic Fact Sheet). Senators Charles H. Percy and Hubert H. Humphrey founded the Alliance in 1977. The Alliance receives its funding from government grants and corporate contributions.
